Our Story

The Double Amputee Too! Foundation was born from personal experience. After losing a leg below the knee and five toes in two surgeries, our Co-founder Charles Wattley felt called to create a ministry for amputees. Initially, he resisted, trying to return to his 40-year real estate career, but the need was undeniable.

Together with his wife Diane, they established our 501(c)(3) nonprofit inspired by Charles' journey as a double amputee. At Double Amputee, we care about healing both the heart and the body, focusing on restoring mobility because we believe movement is not only necessary but a gift.

WHAT WE DO

  • Mobility Resources

    We provide essential mobility devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, and canes to low and moderate-income amputees who lack the means to acquire them.

  • Support Services

    We offer specific and guided referrals to agencies providing social services, employment assistance, and housing support.

  • Community Building

     Through podcasts, blogs, and events, we connect amputees with resources and each other, fostering a supportive community.

  • Advocacy & Education

    We raise public awareness about the challenges amputees face and work to improve accessibility and opportunities.
